I'm New! What Do I Do?

DAY 11 OF 35

Who Is Jesus?

Knowing Our Savior

For centuries, people have debated who Jesus is. Some have argued that He is merely a historical figure, a good teacher, a prophet, a proponent of love, or a polarizing religious leader.

It is important for us to know who Jesus really is. The Bible clearly shows that Jesus is God. God saw us in the sinful condition we were in and knew we needed to be saved. He came in the form of a man, Jesus, and lived among us. He lived a perfect life and fulfilled every part of God’s law on our behalf.

In the same way, when Jesus died, He died in our place. He took the punishment for our sin on Himself. He was raised again from the dead and ascended to Heaven, where He is now seated at the right hand of the Father. He lives forever as our High Priest, King, and Advocate, praying for us and interceding on our behalf.

Isn’t it good to know that God doesn’t leave you alone after you are saved? His past work of redeeming you from sin and reconciling you to the Father is vitally important. Equally important is His present work of restoring us to the life God designed for us.

So, who is Jesus to you? He is many things! He is your Savior, Lord, Brother, Friend, High Priest, and Advocate in Heaven. He has sent His Spirit to live in you (more on this tomorrow). You can confidently say: Jesus is your everything!

Prayer

“Thank You, Jesus, for saving me! You are my everything. I am grateful that You are for me. I will continue to live my life for You. Amen.”
