I'm New! What Do I Do?Sample

Who Is the Holy Spirit?
God Living in You
As Christians, we were never designed to do life alone. God desires to be with you intimately. We see this progression throughout the Bible:
- In the Old Testament, God is called the God of Israel.
- In the New Testament, specifically in the Gospels, God is with us in the form of His Son, Jesus.
- Now that Jesus has ascended to the Father and we have been born again, we receive the Holy Spirit to live in us.
Did you see the progression? He was the God of His people, then God with His people, and now God in His people.
The Holy Spirit is God living in you! Jesus spoke of the Holy Spirit as our Helper. He wants to help in every area of your life. Jesus also called the Holy Spirit our Counselor and Teacher, saying that the Spirit would guide us in life and show us what is ahead.
What kind of life can you live with God as your guide? How much better will your decisions be when you get counsel from the Holy Spirit? You are no longer alone. God is your God, He is with you, and His Holy Spirit is living in you. When you pray to the Father in Jesus’ name, the Holy Spirit will lead you and speak to you.
Take time every day to listen to and follow the guidance you receive from the Holy Spirit. As you do, you will develop the intimacy with God He desires. You will be able to hear His voice clearly and receive His help.
Prayer
“Dear God, I desire intimacy with You. Please guide me into a deep relationship with Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for living in me and leading me. Amen.”
