The Pursuit - 12 WeeksSample

Seven hundred years before Jesus’ birth, Isaiah wrote about a mysterious “servant” who would suffer for the sins of others. He said this servant would be “despised and rejected,” “oppressed and afflicted,” yet “did not open his mouth.” He would die alongside criminals, be buried in a rich man’s tomb, and bear the guilt of many.
Every detail came true in Jesus. He was falsely accused and stayed silent before His accusers. He was crucified between two thieves. He was buried in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea, a wealthy man. Isaiah described it all with surgical precision centuries before the events unfolded.
Fulfilled prophecy like this isn’t coincidence — it’s confirmation. It shows that the Bible isn’t just human words about God, but God’s words through humans. Isaiah 53 reminds us that Jesus’ suffering was never random or accidental; it was intentional, planned by a loving God who wanted to redeem us.
When you realize that the cross was written into history long before it happened, it’s impossible to see the Bible as just another book. It’s the true story of a God who keeps His word — no matter the cost.
Reflection:
What does Isaiah 53 reveal to you about God’s control over history and His deep love for humanity?
