The Pursuit - 12 WeeksSample

Genesis 1 begins the story of everything—light, sky, land, animals, stars. Over and over, God calls it “good.” But when He creates humans, something changes. He makes us “in His image” and then declares it “very good.” That little phrase changes everything about how we see ourselves and others.
Being made in God’s image means you reflect Him in unique ways. You can think, love, and create. You were designed for relationships and built with an eternal soul. Your worth isn’t tied to achievements, failures, or what others say—it’s rooted in God Himself. This truth also changes how we see others. Every person—friend, stranger, even enemy—bears God’s image. That makes life sacred, from the unborn to the elderly, from the strong to the weak.
And it’s not just about dignity; it’s also about responsibility. God told Adam and Eve to “rule” over creation, not in a selfish way but as caretakers. You were made to represent God’s character to the world. That’s an incredible honor and calling.
Reflection:
How would your outlook shift if you saw every person—including yourself—as carrying the image of God?
