The Pursuit - 12 WeeksSample

This passage is known as the Shema, the heartbeat of Jewish faith and the foundation of Jesus’ teaching. Before Moses gave the Israelites any instructions about conquering land or building homes, he gave them this: Love God completely.
Notice that love comes before obedience. God doesn’t want robots who follow commands out of fear — He wants children who follow out of affection. To love God with all your heart means your desires belong to Him. To love Him with all your soul means your identity is rooted in Him. And to love Him with all your strength means your daily actions reflect your devotion.
Moses doesn’t stop at the personal level — he tells families to talk about God’s truth “when you sit at home, when you walk along the road, when you lie down, and when you get up.” Faith isn’t meant to live in a box labeled “Sunday.” It’s meant to saturate life — mealtimes, car rides, bedtime stories, and everything in between.
Centuries later, Jesus would echo these same words, proving that loving God with everything you have is the foundation for everything else.
Reflection:
What’s one way you can weave love for God more intentionally into your daily routines this week?
