The Pursuit - 12 WeeksSample

When the religious leaders tried to trap Jesus with a question — “Which commandment is the greatest?” — He gave them an answer that silenced everyone. Love God. Love people. Everything else flows from there.
Jesus didn’t cancel the commandments; He clarified them. The first four are about loving God, and the last six are about loving others. Together, they describe what a fully devoted heart looks like. But Jesus adds something deeper: loving God and others isn’t a religious duty; it’s the natural outflow of a transformed heart.
Jesus modeled this perfectly. He loved His Father in complete obedience, and He loved people with compassion, truth, and sacrifice — even to the point of the cross. Following Jesus means walking that same path: learning to love with the kind of humility and grace that changes lives.
The Christian life isn’t primarily about rule-keeping; it’s about relationship — first vertical (with God) and then horizontal (with others). Love is the measure of maturity.
Reflection:
How could you express love for God and others in a practical way today?
