Jesus chastises the Jewish leaders for not believing in Him and the writings of Moses which foretell of Jesus being the Messiah. Nor do they believe in the witness of John the Baptist and even Jesus's own life. He exposes the true condition of their hearts as men-pleasers and not God-lovers.
