The Lord is Close to the Brokenhearted
Focus: God sees your pain and is close to you in your brokenness. You are not alone. He is with you.

God's Comfort in Our Brokenness
The practice of drawing near to God instead of running from Him can be a hard concept to grasp. We've seen it from the beginning with Adam and Eve in their sin. They hid in their shame. What if that shame isn't from sin but shame from what has happened to us?
Life has a way of breaking us down, piece by piece until all that's left seems to be a pile of shattered hopes, dreams, and expectations. When we are in the middle of deep pain—whether from loss, betrayal, or disappointment—it can feel like we're completely alone, left to pick up the pieces alone. But in those moments when our spirits are crushed, and our hearts are heavy, God's Word offers us a profound and comforting truth: we are never truly alone. And in Him, He provides comfort in our pain and not shame.
Psalm 34:18 reminds us of God's closeness in dark times: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." This verse is a powerful reminder that God is not distant or detached from our suffering. Instead, He draws near to us in our darkest moments, offering comfort, healing, and salvation when we need it most. You can hold onto this promise, knowing that God is with you, even when it feels like the world has turned its back on you.
Have you ever felt like the weight of your circumstances was too much to bear like you were carrying a heavy burden that crushed your spirit? It's easy to feel abandoned in those times and wonder if anyone sees or understands your pain. But the truth is, God sees, understands, and is closer than you think.
Even in your brokenness, God is near and ready to bring you the healing and comfort your heart needs.
You are not alone—He is always near.
Questions:
- In what ways have you experienced God's presence during challenging times?
- How can you invite God into your healing process today?
Challenge: Pray this simple prayer, "Lord, I feel broken and crushed by what I've been through. Please draw near to me and heal my heart. Help me to feel Your presence and to trust in Your love. Amen."

读经计划介绍
Domestic violence is the systematic way one person tries to gain power and control over another person physically, emotionally, sexually, spiritually, economically, or psychologically. It is not God's desire for human beings to interact with one another in this way. Instead, God calls everyone to love each other, as outlined in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.
