Free Reading Plans and Devotionals related to John 12:15

1600 years ago Christians began calling the last days of Jesus’ life “Holy Week.” This eight-day reading plan will explain what happened on each of Jesus' final days and why those events, while often tragic, are ultimately good news. Each day there will be a short reading from a psalm, one of the Old Testament prophets, and a few verses from the New Testament. There will also be a short devotional to guide you through those passages and see the significance of Jesus' last days on earth.

You are beginning a journey through the most important week in history. Come along with us and recline with Jesus at the Passover table, linger in the silence of Holy Saturday, and experience the joy of Jesus’ Resurrection. Each day, we’ll look at what the gospels say about the events of Holy Week and walk through a simple prayer. We’ll follow the S.O.A.P. study method: Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer.

This plan will guide you through the events of each day in Holy Week, from the triumphal entry on Palm Sunday to the resurrection on Easter Sunday.

Jesus “took the bread, blessed it, broke it, gave it to his disciples, and said, ‘This is my body given for you, do this in remembrance of me.’” In the same way, we too are taken, blessed, broken, given, and spoken in God’s love—that we might remember the body of Christ for a hurting world and become instruments of peace.
