The world is a battlefield. Not only literally, when people groups or countries are fighting, but also spiritually. Satan has declared war on God and God’s people. This sounds terrifying, and therefore it is important to know that Jesus is stronger. He is stronger than sin, stronger than Satan, and stronger even than death itself. And if you belong to Him, you share in His victory!

When we take a look around at the chaos that life can leave in its wake, things can seem pretty bleak. It is at these times that God's Word is needed more than any other--to bring purpose and clarity to a world that has lost its way.

Limits and boxes have always been part of the human experience from the very beginning, and therefore should not be an issue of unnecessary concern to us. The key is recognizing we have limits, but if we engage with God’s timeless truth and His relentless purpose for our lives, we can live so well within those limits that it seems like we’re living beyond them. We can go beyond what we think is possible if we stay within the God-designed boxes of our lives. He can do more with us and through us in a box, than we can do on our own, outside of the box!

Jesus promised that we would grow into the fullness of life by His Spirit. To do that we need to keep encountering the basic truths of faith more deeply and profoundly. If we do, there is a vibrant and supernatural life that exceeds our hopes and dreams, as we experience partnership with God, extending His Kingdom here on earth.

While people are aware of the Lord’s Prayer for daily needs, they may not know that Jesus had a vital prayer life and especially relied on his Father’s help as he faced and endured the cross. We can learn much about how to pray in crisis times by looking at those prayers of Jesus. 

Jesus was not just a spiritual leader. Such a perception underplays his leadership capability, considering how he transformed twelve ordinary and if we are honest, unlikely men, into the first generation of leaders of a movement that continues to affect the course of world history 2,000 years later. Jesus provides the template for Kingdom-style leadership that we can model to transform any given situation, team or organization. More than ever, good biblical leadership is required not only in our church environment but in every area of society. Regardless of your title, role or status you have an opportunity to bring about cultural transformation by positioning yourself as a Kingdom-style leader. Jesus came not to be served, but to serve. That’s the mandate for this week. Can we serve others the way Jesus served us, with zeal, a spiritual fervor and with devoted faithfulness? It’s worth seeing how we can be serving God and serving others like Jesus role-modeled for us over 2,000 years ago.
