Fear can loom over our lives, especially during important times. The first Christmas was no exception, as key people were told not to fear. Over four days, this devotional will look at reasons we can overcome fear using the stories of Zechariah, Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds. We will see how God's message to them still apply to us today.

Most Christmas stories begin with the cry of a baby in a manger, but for this story will begin three months earlier in a small mountain village just south of Jerusalem near the town of Hebron.  The story will begin as you watch a young, tired, and very pregnant girl walking up the road to the house of Elizabeth and Zechariah.  That’s where you will begin your journey to Bethlehem with Mary and Joseph.

The most important moment in the history of the world was when Jesus, the Light of the World, became flesh to dwell among us.  Angels announced his arrival, poems were written, shepherds ran and Mary sang! Come with us on a five-day journey as we examine His light, how it inspired those around Him and how it impacts us today.

Let's face it - the season of Advent, the final four weeks leading up to Christmas Day - is oftentimes the busiest, most stressful time of the year for women. But this is not at all what God intended. The Lord intended for these weeks of joy, love, hope, and peace to bring just those beautiful things to the hearts of women everywhere. We all have those people that we “know of”. We can’t claim to know them on a personal level, but we have enough information to know who they are. In Plan 2 of 19, we hear John the Baptist’s testimony of Jesus. He didn’t have a personal relationship with Jesus but when Jesus was revealed to him, he went from “knowing of” Jesus to being known! Do you know Jesus? More importantly, are you known by Him?
