Biola University's Center for Christianity, Culture & the Arts is pleased to share the annual Advent Project, a daily devotional series celebrating the beauty and meaning of the Advent season through art, music, poetry, prayer, Scripture, and written devotions. The project starts on the first day of Advent and continues through Epiphany. Our goal is to help individuals quiet their hearts and enter into a daily routine of worship and reflection during this meaningful but often hectic season. Our prayer is that the project will help ground you in the unsurpassable beauty, mystery, and miracle of the Word made flesh.

Peace is more than the absence of conflict—it is the presence of wholeness. In a world marked by wars, divisions, and inner turmoil, God visits His people in Christ to rescue them from sin, darkness, and death and to guide them into the way of peace. As we grow in wholeness through forgiveness, light, and salvation, we are also sent as peacemakers—ambassadors of reconciliation—participating in God’s renewing work in the world.

When you meet Jesus, this changes your life. The Bible describes countless examples of this, and you may recognize it in your own life as well. This reading plan examines some of the encounters people had with Jesus when He was just a baby. Read these stories as a mirror to reflect on your own response to Jesus.

Christmas is filled with wonder. Yet under the twinkly lights and piles of paper and ribbon, all its promise can be lost in our must-do lists, noisy distractions, or dreams dismantled by the stuff of life. Instead, let’s journey to the manger where Jesus came for our rescue. Realizing that we will only begin to scratch the surface of Who He is and what He has done in this lifetime.
