3O, let Thy licht leme and Thy truth,
To airt me straucht to Thee;
And wear me til Thy holie hill,
Whaur Thy lown biggins be.
4Syne to God’s altar sal I gang —
A loesome Lord He is —
My harp I’ll play, and lilt a lay
Thee God, my God, to praise.
5My soul, hoo can ye murn and maen?
And hoo sae dowie dree?
O, tell me hoo wi’ dreid are you
Forfoch’en sae in me?
Come, ye maun lippen to the Lord;
Or lang I will Him laud;
My health o’ face, and ilka grace
Are a’ the gifts o’ God.
