ይህ አዲሱ መደበኛ ትርጕም መጀመሪያ በቢብሊካ እ.አ.አ. በ2001 የታተመ ነው። ከዐማርኛ ቋንቋ መለወጥና አንዳንድ ዕርማት ከማስፈለጉ የተነሣ ተሻሽሎ ታትሟል። ዐላማውም፣ የቋንቋውን የሰዋስው ሕግ በተቻለ መጠን ጠብቆ ለማንበብና ለመረዳት ቀላል በሆነ የጊዜው ዐማርኛ መቅረብ፣ ትክክለኛና ለመጀመሪያው ጽሑፍ ታማኝ መሆን ነው። ይህን የጊዜው ዐማርኛ ተናጋሪ ጥያቄን ለመመለስ የሥነ መለኮትና የቋንቋ ተመራማሪዎች የተዋቀረ ቡድን ከዐማርኛ፣ ከዕብራይስጥና ከግሪክ ቋንቋ አጥኚዎች ጋራ በመተባበር ሠርቷል። ይህ ትርጕም፣ በኢትዮጵያና በውጪ አገር ለሚኖሩ የዐማርኛ ቋንቋ የአፍ መፍቻቸውም ሆነ ሁለተኛ ቋንቋቸው ለሆነ በተለያየ ዕድሜ ላይ ለሚገኙ ሰዎች ያገለግላል።  ――――――― The New Amharic Standard Version was first published in 2001 by Biblica. This revision accounts for the development of the Amharic language over the years, as well as the need to correct small errors in the previous publication based on feedback received. The aim is a contemporary language translation, accurate and faithful to the original texts, yet easy to read and understand. The revision team of expert theologians and linguists has worked with people from various churches with expertise and experience in Amharic literature, Hebrew, Greek, and Biblical theology to meet the requirements of todayʼs Amharic speakers.
