Psalms 122
122
psalm CXXII
Tuin: St Paul
1Fu’ fain was I, when folk did cry,
“To God’s Hoose let us gang”;
2Jerusalem, thy yetts athin
Oor feet sal stand or lang.
3Jerus’lem a’ is biggit braw,
A toon set by its lane;
4To thee there maun come ilka clan,
That’s o’ Jehovah’s ain;
The trystin’‐place o’ Israel’s race,
To God’s name laud to gie;
5Set there in sicht the thrones o’ richt,
E’en thrones o’ Dauvid, be.
6Pray that Jerusalem may be
Fu’ lown, and aye be seil;
For nocht sal fa’ but gude on a’.
That wiss Jerus’lem weel.
Sae wad I wiss athin thy wa’s
That lown may siccar be;
7And e’en that a’ thy biggin’s braw
Hae aye prosperitie.
8For sake o’ freends and brithers there,
“Lown loe thee,” I maun pray;
9And for that there’s God’s Hoose o’ Prayer
I’ll seek thy gude alway.
