This devotional will guide and direct you during 21 days of prayer and fasting. So that you can really make an impact you must focus on going deeper in prayer, the Word, and in your relationship with God. If that is where God is leading you then this devotional is for you.

The Bible is full of stories about people who try to live to God's glory - with ups and downs. Elijah is such a man. He is a prophet who serves God wholeheartedly, but is also prone to despondency and depression. He confronts the king fearlessly, but flees from the queen. And in all this, God continues to care for His servant.

God alone is our refuge. When the foundations around us are shaken, He is the shelter we run to. God alone can bring peace in the chaos, joy in the sorrow, and hope in the darkness. All we need to do is be still and know.

This devotion will take you through the entire book of James.

For James, Christians (that is, followers of his half-brother) should reflect the character of their God. And what we find in this letter is not works and more works as sometimes thought to be. On the contrary it is a letter infused by God’s character, with the intention of making God-shaped people living in the world.

James often is compact in length but overflows with powerful lessons on godly living.
