The Gospel of John is a great place to start discovering who Jesus is and the SOAP acronym guides us as we invite God to speak to us about our own lives.

The welcome of Christ was astonishing to the culture around him. He gave voice to the speechless, frustrated the powerful, and humbled the wise. As Christians, our welcome should be like his– wonderfully surprising, deeply challenging, and firmly rooted in love. This five-week study explores the complicated and beautiful welcome of Jesus toward his most beloved creation, human beings. As Matthew 20:28 tells us, "the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." Families can follow Christ's example by serving others. For each day of Advent, we have found scripture and a family activity or conversation to talk about and show what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus, so that we may all "Know Him By Name."

It's so easy to get caught up in all the hall decking and merry making that we forget what Christmas is all about - a baby in a manger who changes everything! So before Christmas slips away and the new year dawns, we invite you to slow down and take some time to prepare your heart for the celebration “God with us.”
