Jesus Is Faithfulness

“Take This Job and Shove It” is an old Johnny Paycheck country music song that expresses the longings of millions of people who hate what they do and would like to quit. Every day people give up on their relationships as well, running and walking away from stress and pain. Every day people give up on their own lives and end them.

People are often weak and fickle. Jesus is not. Of all the things you worry about, you know that Jesus will always be there for you, always loving you, always forgiving you, always guiding and steering events in your life to shepherd you home. You know that He is rock-steady, willing and able to endure the worst to be able to give you the best.

His commitment to you is based not on your worthiness or performance but on a decision He made from all eternity to go after you and reconnect you with your Creator. “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart” (Hebrews 12:2,3).
