Run Like Heaven

Yesterday’s passage was a long list of Old Testament people who demonstrated faithfulness to God. The author adds one more name to the list, one who exhibited faithfulness better than anyone else: Jesus. The Son perfectly obeyed his Father to the end, suffering for the joy of pleasing his him and saving his people. The readers are urged to look to Jesus whenever the long-distance marathon of faith becomes difficult, to strengthen their weak knees for the race ahead, and to not resist the Lord’s discipline in their lives, for discipline is how God keeps his children on track.
