Take Care Pt. 1

Yesterday’s passage was a large quotation of Psalm 95 about how Israel wandered in the wilderness because of their disobedience. The author of Hebrews uses this quotation as a springboard to tell his readers that they too should be careful to obey the word of God; failure to do so will result in wandering through life and not reaching God’s rest (that is, salvation)! The author juxtaposes this peril with promise: the promise of entering God’s rest still stands, so his readers should press on to enter that rest!
