Our societies are a reflection of the families in them. Every society that has broken families is a broken society. God designed the family to be the first building block of a society. Health in families is reflected in the health of the society

When the devil wants to break a society, he starts by destroying family values. He starts by spreading anti-marriage propaganda. This starts to dilute the value of marriage. He then makes sure that he attacks the importance of a parent, especially the father in a family environment. This makes the children vulnerable and end up adopting values passed to them from outside the family.

There are three reasons why God wants us to have strong families. The first is to pass values to the next generation. When the family is attacked, or disturbed, children end up adopting ungodly values passed to them from a broken society.

The family was also meant to be a training ground for learning how to add value to society. Children learn from the family environment how to not just take, but to give as well. We see throughout the Bible that children learnt a trade, or business within a family unit. We see this even with our Lord Jesus Christ that He learnt a trade of carpentry because he was born into a carpentry family. (Mark 6:3) 

A family is not just for passing godly values, or training for how to add value to society. A family is also there to provide a support system. Healthy families provide good support system during times of need. 

Prayer: Dear Lord help my family to be a godly family. A family were godly values will be passed on to the next generation. A place where all family members will learn to share and support one another. Amen
