Power Read The Bible In 60 Days With Jeff Andersonنموونە

Day 14
WHEN THE BIBLE SHOUTS
[Scheduled Reading: 1 Samuel 11-27]
Another cool thing happens when power-reading through the Bible.
Mega-themes shout for your attention.
Like this theme from Samuel’s farewell address: Do not turn aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart(1 Samuel 12:20).
Then again a few verses later, Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart(v24).
Who does that sound like? It sounds like Joshua before him…and Moses before Joshua.
Like a bull-horn message from a burdened prophet, we are reminded of this theme over and over again - all throughout Exodus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges…. and now Samuel.
Serve the Lord with all your heart… do not turn away from serving the Lord.
Keep reading, my friends. Listen to the whispers… and the screams.
