Power Read The Bible In 60 Days With Jeff Andersonنموونە

Day 28
PRAYER JOURNAL
[Scheduled Reading: Psalm 55-84]
I started journaling prayers to God nearly twenty years ago.
I was in a career transition having had just started my own business. It was a very volatile and emotional venture (as a stock daytrader) and I was dependant on God for success... and sanity. I was 27 years old and my faith journey was starting to sprout.
I didn’t realize it at the time, but looking back I now see clear connection between my early seasons of journaling and growth in my faith.
One of the great benefits of journaling is being able to go back and review various stages of my life.
I can see how God carried me through seasons of trials and triumphs, joys and disappointments. I can see repeated themes that help me understand Jeff… and better understand God.
Most importantly, I see the proof and faithfulness of God’s attention to my life. That’s comforting.
I don’t journal every day. Sometimes I go weeks or months without journaling. Still I have filled several notebooks over the years of my thoughts, prayers and discussions with God.
Keep in mind that as you read through the Psalms, you're reading through someone prayer journal. Pretty cool.
