God validates Aaron’s priesthood and sets out the duties and support required of the Levites. He gives laws on offerings, Sabbath observance and fringes on garments.
Note Deuteronomy 2:1: The continual circling for 38 years was probably around the western hills of Edom/Seir looking for fresh pasture for their livestock (see map in Appendix H: A Suggested Wilderness Route). Most of the people of Edom, who refused them entry, probably lived in the protective hills east of the Rift Valley, away from where the Hebrew people were circuiting.
