1015 BC David charges Solomon to walk in God’s ways. He dies at 70. Israel’s leaders pledge their allegiance to Solomon who executes Adonijah, Joab and others to avoid possible insurrection.
Note 1 Kings 2:22: Adonijah’s request for Abishag, who had been chosen to comfort David in his old age, if granted, could have won political support for his claim to the throne.
