The Bible as a Foundation

Over the past few days, we have learned what the Bible is, why we need it, how to read it, and how to understand it. The Bible is a guide by which we can live our lives. The Bible tells us about God’s story for us - His love, promises, protection, and faithfulness. We do not find salvation in the physical book of the Bible, but we find it in the person about whom the Bible is written - God the Father and His Son, Jesus.

As you read the Bible, remember that you don’t have to (and should not) read the Bible alone. Find a friend or mentor who can help you understand and digest what you are reading. Also as the scripture says, “the Word of God is living and active”. This means that it is not meant to be read just once, but the Bible should be read over and over again. Each time you read the Bible, even if it’s a familiar scripture that you’ve read before, ask the Holy Spirit to show you something new.

With the Bible as a foundation in our lives, we can be guided by the truth that God is with us and that He is calling us to Him.
