FOLLOW YOUR DREAM

Recently I've had folks writing to tell me of the dreams, visions and words from God received through their quiet times, of God's call upon their lives. A call to fulfil a particular function for the Kingdom and asking me to help them with direction.

Well, quite simply I need to say that first of all, time is quickly running out. We need to act upon the prompting of the Holy Spirit, then get confirmation of that call through the written Word of God, and from trusted fellow believers. And then do it! See Proverbs 3:5-6.

Every single man or woman of God must start somewhere. For example: Paul on the road to Damascus, Peter leaving his nets or Moses leaving his father-in-law Jethro's sheep.

This takes faith and obedience. Remember Jesus doesn't use the sharpest tool in the shed. No, He uses those who will raise their hand and say: "Lord all I have are two small fishes and five small barley loaves of bread". Jesus will reply, "That's more than enough", then multiply them to feed a multitude of starving souls. John 4:35.

The Master is calling us to get started and to use what we have. It might only be a stick, just like what Moses had, but for Jesus that's more than enough.

I have spoken to many people who are lamenting because of their past. Maybe they have been through a divorce, maybe they did something illegal, maybe they have been to prison, maybe they have lost their employment because of dishonesty and they are lamenting their situation. Is there any hope left for me? That's the question. Well, the answer is good news; the Lord specializes in taking failures and turning them inside out and making them successes.

As we conclude this reading plan I want to encourage you today to turn back to the Restorer and let Him renew your life. I love the old story, that God has a bad memory because once He forgives, He forgets, and He never brings up the past.

So, confess your sins (1 John 1:9) and move on in faith and let God make you a champion racehorse for Him.

The Creative Restorer

"Restore me, and I will return, for You are the Lord my God." Jeremiah 31:18 Our God is in the restoration business; our God is a restorer. Restoration is the nature of God. Join me, Angus Buchan, on this 7-day journey and look at the areas in our daily lives God restores if we have faith and by obedience let Him work in and through our lives.
