Because the double portion is the ONLY escape from the earth curse system of painful toil and sweat, Satan hates it. He tries to convince Christians that if they are just paying their bills, working two jobs to keep up, they are doing alright. But a Christian that has money to support the Kingdom of God and lives free from financial fear and worry—now that is someone he wants to stop! Satan’s intent is to keep you broke all the days of your life and enslaved to a meager survival lifestyle where you have no influence.

Money is influence! Satan would love to stop you from God’s blessing for sure. That is why what I am about to tell you is so important for you to understand.

The double portion is hidden!

Okay, it’s time to give the disciples a break. There was a reason they didn’t see the overflow when they fed the 5,000. Well, of course, one factor is the fact they weren’t looking, but there was another factor. You normally do not pick up the scraps! I mean, in their minds, the bread and fish pieces lying around were just scraps.

Why was the coin that Peter needed to pay his taxes hidden in a fish’s mouth? Who would ever think to look there? Who would have thought that two boats of professional fisherman who had fished all night and caught nothing would catch the biggest catch of their lives at the word of a rabbi? In all of these stories, God used the unexpected to change the situation around. 

If the overflow was obvious, just sitting out in the open, Satan would have seen it and would have tried to intercept it and steal it! That is why God does not reveal His treasures openly. They are hidden. Satan hates for you to be satisfied and enjoying provision, but he really hates it if you step over into the overflow and the Sabbath rest.
