Our words define us! That is the summation of these verses. In these verses, the Teacher highlights the speech of the fool in comparison with the wise.

The wise man's words win over people. The words of the fool lead them on a path of spiraling destruction that consumes them. The path progresses from foolishness to completely wicked madness. That journey alone should be enough to cause us to seek the wise path.

However, the fool never knows when to be quiet. They just keep spouting more and more foolish words. Despite not really knowing what they are talking about, they drone on as if they are an expert. Perhaps you have been in a few conversations like this with folks on your campus. 

In the end, these folks can’t even follow a clearly marked road into the city. Some people just make the job more difficult than it really needs to be.
