In order to experience the full freedom Jesus offers, you have to fully surrender your life to him. This is what Paul calls becoming a slave to Christ.
Many of us want to follow Jesus, but we don’t want to fully surrender to him. We like to be in control. We follow Jesus when it’s easy and convenient, but when things get difficult or Jesus asks us to give something up, we hold back.
As long as Jesus doesn’t mess with your friends, what media you take in, your future decisions, how you spend your time or money, or whatever else, you’re cool with him.
But here’s the thing - true freedom requires full surrender. That means nothing is off limits.
Where have you been holding back in following Jesus? What does it look like to surrender that to him?

We are all a slave to something. In this reading plan, we explore what it means to be a slave to sin, how Jesus freed us from that slavery, and how fully experiencing that freedom requires us to become a slave to Christ. This plan was created by the Student Ministry at LCBC Church to help young people understand their freedom in Christ.
