How Do You Picture God? 

It's been said what a person thinks about God is the most important thing about them. 

That is so true because your view of God shapes who you are and how you live. So, it’s vitally important that you have a right understanding of God. And the best way to learn about the truths of God is found in the Bible.

For starters, when reading the Bible, we are told that God is one in nature (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 44:6-8)—yet, eternally revealed in three distinctive (yet united) personhoods (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). 

The Bible also mentions God is eternal. That there is no beginning or end to Him (Deuteronomy 33:27). That He is perfect and unchanging (Hebrews 6:17-18) and is presently involved everywhere in His creation all at once. David proclaims, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it” (Psalm 24:1).

Not only that, but the Bible describes God as love (1 John 4:7). That He is infinitely loving and unlimited in His goodness. 

God is also holy, righteous and just (Psalm 22:3). The great author, Jerry Bridges writes, “God is completely sovereign. God is infinite in wisdom. God is perfect in love. God in His love always wills what is best for us. In His wisdom He always knows what is best, and in His sovereignty He has the power to bring it about.” 

These are just a few biblical truths that provide a clear picture of God. 

So, take refuge in the fact that God is personal and has made it possible for you to know who He is.
