 Bound to Freedom

Galatians 5:1
 

"For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery".
 

It is for the sake of freedom that Christ has made us free. Christ Himself is freedom personified. We are called to abide in Jesus, for it is in Him we have true freedom (John 15). It is also in Christ where our true life is hidden. So, as we hide in Him, we are freed from the entanglements of sin and its curse. Christ has made us free indeed and we no longer must be yoked to any form of slavery. This is good news because a new life has been given to all that believe, and all old things have passed away. The old yokes to addiction, depression, guilt, and shame have now lost their power over the believer and the believer has been made totally free (John 8:36). "In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence." (Ephesians 3:12). "Let it be known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and by him everyone who believes is freed from everything from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses." (Acts 13:38-39).
 

Action steps:
 

"But now that you have been set free from sin and become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life." (Romans 6:22). As you go through your day bring to your remembrance the price Christ paid for your freedom and refuse to be bound to anything outside of Christ's freedom.
 

Prayer:
 

Thank you, Father God, for setting me free from sin, failures of my past and every addiction. Help me to abide in You as You abide in me, and thank You for helping me to have a fruitful life in Jesus' name, Amen.
