YOUR WORTH IS NOT IN YOUR POTENTIAL

All of us on earth have been given life, gifts, and abilities from God, but our worth and value to God is not in what we do for him. Yes there are rewards and blessing that comes from what we do or don't do, but our value to God is because we're His children.

This is why I'm focusing on God as our Father because to fully embrace how He loves you, you have to not focus on him like a boss or task master but a loving Father. You see that clearly displayed in today's reading about the prodigal son. The prodigal son thought his sonship was performance based, but it was bloodline based. And the same with us, my sonship is based on the blood of Jesus not my good works.

Some might think, "Aren't we supposed to do good work and doesn't God want me to do certain things?" Yes, that's a great question, God does call us to a holy life, He calls us to live pure and to choose to do what's right. 

But, it's key to note that our good works aren't to get God's love but in response to God's love. 

Live for God out of love not fear!
