Jesus silences the Sadducees’ question on resurrection. The Pharisees then test Him on the Law. He asks them to declare whose son is the Christ. He says how wretched the teachers of the Law and the Pharisees are and warns his disciples against their corrupt spirit.
Note Matthew 23:35: From the first murder (Abel in Genesis 4:8) to the last murder in 2 Chronicles 24:20–22 (Chronicles is the last book in the Jewish Bible).
