Daily Bible Reading — Sustained By God’s Word Of Forgiveness & Mercyنموونە

August 30
Introduction
God is angry because of what David had done and sends the prophet Nathan to confront David about his sin. David acknowledges his sin, and the child that Bathsheba bears dies. Today’s reading concludes with the birth of another son borne to David and Bathsheba whom David names Solomon.
Today’s Scripture: 2 Samuel 12:13
“I have sinned against the LORD,” David said.
Today’s Reading
2 Samuel 12:1-25
Reflect
What story does Nathan present to David? How does David react? Reread verses 7-14. What consequences will David experience as a result of his sin? Even though Nathan tells David that God has forgiven him, what will happen (verses 13-14)? What does today’s reading teach you about God?
Pray
Holy God, great is your mercy. Whenever I sin, I trust in your love, knowing I can turn to you and confess my sin and receive your forgiveness. Thank you for your faithfulness and restoring me to a right relationship with you. Amen.
Prayer Concern
