A Moment To Breathe: Find Rest In The Messنموونە

Growing Confident
During lunch with a dear friend, the lightheartedness changed when a sticky topic came up. Immediately, I felt the atmosphere shift with an undertone of tension. When I asked if she was okay, she said, “Of course.” But on her drive home she called to say how she was really doing – our conversation had hit an “insecurity button”. She was gracious, humble, loving, and open – open to God’s healing in her life and open to walking in true confidence. And her phone call resulted in a newfound freedom in our friendship.
In similar situations, instead of being real, I’ve said “I’m fine” when really I was dying inside. Maybe I was too scared to be honest. Or maybe I wasn’t sure how to express my feelings. But my friend’s example set me on a path to freedom.
Growing into a woman of true confidence means we’ll risk doing real life with real people. I know from experience that it’s hard to find friends who are trustworthy, safe, and caring. But it’s so much better to do life with people than alone. It’s what we were made for. When we pursue wholeness in Christ, we pave the way for others to follow and find freedom for themselves. That’s what my friend did for me.
