Have you ever taken such a good nap that when you woke up you didn’t know what day it was or where you were? Good naps just have a way of making everything feel better, don’t they?

Well, have you ever thought of God doing for you what a good couple of hours of rest can do for you? The Psalmist in this verse talks about God as refreshing to our souls. Imagine if you started to see God in a way that refreshed you, encouraged you, and gave you life. What if you saw God as the One in whom you could find your rest, fulfillment, and purpose? The One who could ultimately guide you down a path of peace? 

Today, when something in your life feels overwhelming, take it to God. Pray about what’s bothering you. Breathe deeply. Maybe even repeat the verse above over and over. Allow yourself to be refreshed and find rest in God’s presence.
