 Our Purpose Is To Honor All People

In The Passion Translation, the same verse reads “ Recognize the value of every person.”  Respecting the value of every person is to respect them irrespective of how different they are from us or what their quirks are. They are human beings created in the image of God which requires that we respect them unconditionally. In a world where the “self” is promoted and self-love is being raved about, it's easy to forget about honoring others above ourselves as the Bible instructs. We don’t need to look far to find our life’s purpose. We can start by showing respect to the people who we cross paths with every single day.  We may not know anything about the person but by way of them being created in God’s likeness, they are deserving of respect and dignity. Respect is about looking at people intrinsically - the way God sees them - as precious, deserving of compassion, and with their own struggles and burdens to bear. Honor goes beyond appearances and finds the gold in every single person.
