Week Five: The Ultimate Goal of Caring
March 29
When believers are serving the least, the last and the lost, we can easily forget the final goal. In general, no one objects when a Christian cares for him physically and emotionally, but at times he objects when a believer tries to minister to him spiritually. Christians are called to care about all suffering, but we must never forget the particular emphasis we have regarding eternal suffering. As Christians feed the hungry, heal the sick, and hold the hurting friend, we must always keep in mind that the ultimate goal is the salvation of sinners to the glory of God.
Memorize
Read this week’s memory verse, 1 Peter 4:11. You’ll be working on memorizing this verse throughout the week. Today, simply read it and rest.
Each of our readers has a unique story of how they interact with the Bible. We invite you to click on the link below, so we can learn more about you and readers like you. Your participation will help American Bible Society continue to provide high-quality Bible resources for people everywhere and will inform the development of new Bible resources.
