Staying Connected With Godنموونە

In the last lesson, we read about the sex god of Moab called Baal-peor. In this lesson, we find the word “glue” used about Ruth – a young widow from Moab. Ruth leaves Baal-peor behind and glues herself (dabaq) to her mother-in-law, her God, and her people. This story is the only one in the Bible that uses the word “glue” to describe this strong human bond. Ruth promises that nothing but death will separate her from her new people. Ruth is the ancestor of King David and Jesus!
