For Me

Religion is what happens when revelation stops breathing. It is then when forms trumps function; where ritual produces no miracle; when legalism replaces love. It is the leaven that attempts to replace Jesus as the all-sufficient, once and for all sacrifice. Not only for sin, but for eternal life. By Him, all things were made. In Him, all things are complete. Through Him, all things can be done. When we attempt to replace Christ with any ideology or “mechanic” to further substantiate our salvation, it produces a load of futility that ends in frustration and condemnation. Many walk around with the millstone of misery around their necks because someone had the otherwise brilliant thought that additional requirements were needed to exact righteousness. How exceedingly wrong they are. Jesus is God’s Only Plan. Not a Plan A that may need a B if it doesn’t work. He is All and All. He alone is The Way to the Father, the Truth that Frees & the Life that is needed to live. This is the Gospel... The Gospel is not just the message of the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is also the testimony of the interaction between His work and my life. The good news is no news until it becomes good news in my life. The Gospel is my experience with His grace, mercy, and love. The message of the Gospel is not complete until I too become an "epistle" of it--read of all men. We don’t work for Him to be loved. We work for Him because we are loved. First Loved. He is not just enough. He is All.
