Love God Greatly: Know Love: A Study on 1, 2, 3 Johnنموونە

In his letter, John did not tell reveal where his readers lived or how long it would have taken him to travel there. However, he did express his desire to visit them. In the meantime, he wrote to them because he was so passionate about his message. The message of this second letter was so crucial that it couldn’t wait for a face to face conversation. 

When we see those we love walking with the Lord we get excited and are filled with genuine joy. John was the same in that he really wanted his fellow brothers and sisters to walk in truth and love one another. When he saw evidence of this happening he was filled with joy. 

How would John respond if he came into our homes or our churches? Would he see us walking in the truth that we find in our Bibles and loving fellow Christians with a sacrificial love? Would he be able to say his joy was made complete? 

Lord, let us not only talk about Your Word but help us to be doers of what we read. Let our love for You and for others shine brightly in our lives. Amen.
