When Self Help Doesn't Help: It's an Inside Job (Part 2)نموونە

Here is an easy framework we at Cross Timbers love to use when reading the Bible. It’s called the SOAP Method, which stands for:
Scripture--Read the passage. Then, pick a verse or two that stick out to you and write them down.
Observations--What do you see in the verses you’re reading? Who is the audience? Are there any repetitions of words or phrases? What ideas stand out to you?
Application--How does this passage apply to you? What does this passage say about how you can give hope or receive hope today?
Prayer--Pray God’s Word back to Him. If He has revealed something to you during this time, pray about it.

If life feels hopeless, you’re probably not alone. Many of us try hard to overcome the challenges and difficulty that surrounds us, yet we continue to come up short. Is it possible that our self-help strategies lack the one thing necessary for real change? This reading plan, using the SOAP method, will reveal what no self-help strategy can: where the power necessary for lasting transformation can be found.
