By What Authority?

Jesus healed the sick, cast out demons and taught the word of God with the very authority of God. When he cleaned out the temple of money changers, the religious leaders wanted to know by whose authority he was doing all this. They were unable to see the divine authority in all that Jesus did. Today we need to know that Jesus has delegated that very authority to us. We are therefore called to teach, to minister, to heal, to deliver with that same authority in confidence and faith in Him. So much so that when the world sees this, they should ask in amazement - by what authority are we doing all this!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, we thank you that you ask us to minister in your name and with your authority. We pray for confidence and faith to do the things you did when you were on earth - to teach, to heal, to deliver - all in your name and when we step out in faith to do these things, let the world be amazed and seek you , the source from which we get this authority to minister to others. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
