The Israelites faced an obstacle that seemed impossible. And yet…God delivered them. And today, we serve the same faithful, providing, all-powerful, all-mighty God. The same God who parted the Jordan and kept it dry until everyone was across.

"Kept it dry." That phrase jumped off of the page at me. There’s power in that phrase because it’s a reminder that He sees us through. Right in the middle of whatever chaos you may be facing, God doesn’t abandon us in the middle of the battle. He is not only there with us, but He is actively working. He is holding back the waters from rushing in and overtaking us.

If you find yourself in the middle of the battle today, take courage that He is actively fighting on your behalf. We often celebrate the victory at the end of a struggle, grateful that it’s over, which is appropriate! But let us not forget His faithfulness on the journey through the battle. Maybe we all need to build a monument in the middle of our struggles, too. To pause, refocus, and purposely be grateful. It just may shift our perspective moving forward, and it’s another powerful reminder in the future of how faithful He truly has been.
