Walking With Jesus نموونە

You Can’t Handle The Truth
Yesterday we talked about Pilate succumbing to the outside pressure one making his decision about Jesus. I think there is more to pull from this section of the story.
We’ve all seen TV dramas that have court scenes or you may be familiar with “A Few Good Men” with Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson where Tom Cruise wants the truth and Nicholson’s character exclaims, “you can’t handle the truth!” Best line ever!
It reminds me of today’s passage because nobody involved but Jesus could handle the truth of who he was. The religious leaders couldn’t handle the truth because it would change everything about the way they would live their life and do their job.
The crowd couldn’t handle the truth because they couldn’t see past the mob mentality that was granting them instant gratification. Pilate couldn’t handle the truth because it happened to be the unpopular opinion.
Can you handle the truth? Does the truth of Jesus scare you? Does it mean you’re gonna have to change the way you live?
The truth of Jesus should relieve all of us. After all, He is the Way, the Truth and the Life! Nobody comes to the Father except through Him. The truth is He is made a way for all of us. Don’t let anything dilute the truth about Jesus.
Today’s Scripture: John 19:1-16
Pray: Jesus, give me the courage to live in your truth every day.
Daily Challenge: Listen to the song The Way by Pat Barrett.
