Joy Is Already in You

Most people spend their lives trying to achieve happiness. They look to outward circumstances—money, position, relationships, health, or power—and put their joy in the hands of worldly things that are fleeting. Even many Christians fall into this way of thinking. Some even think we have to wait for heaven to have joy!

Thankfully, we don’t have to wait to get to heaven to walk in the joy of the Lord. We can do it right here and now because we have Jesus living inside us, and Hebrews 1:9 (NKJV) says God has anointed Him with “the oil of gladness.” Joy is already inside us.

Joy is a spiritual force that’s born into you like the other fruit of the spirit when you accept Jesus as your Lord. It springs out of your love and attention toward God. The more loving fellowship you have with Him, the more joy you’ll walk in. 

The more time you spend in His Word and in prayer, the more joy will pour out of you.

You don’t need your circumstances to change. All you have to do is stir up the fruit of joy on the inside of you, and you will live the happiest life imaginable!
