Becoming a Fully Devoted Follower of Christنموونە

We have been talking about developing spiritual HABITS. We covered the H for Having a dedicated time with Jesus. Today we want to talk to you about the A of attending church as a habit. Why is this important? Let’s look at Hebrew 10:24-25:

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Why do we meet together for church? 

CELEBRATION: Church should be enjoyable and we gather corporately once a week to celebrate Jesus. We come to worship Him and give Him praise for who He is in our lives.

I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.” Psalm 122:1

INSPIRATION: We believe church should be a place where people experience and are inspired by God’s presence.

But if all of you are prophesying, and unbelievers or people who don’t understand these things come into your meeting, they will be convicted of sin and judged by what you say. As they listen, their secret thoughts will be exposed, and they will fall to their knees and worship God, declaring, “God is truly here among you.” 1 Corinthians 14:24-25

PREPARATION: The church should be a place where people learn how the Bible applies to their daily lives. 

Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-12

SALVATION: Church should be a place where people can accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. 

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? Romans 10:13-14

    3. How’s your dedicated time with Jesus going? Keep meeting with Him. He loves meeting with you.
