Starting a Business God's Way - Part II
When I was 25 years old, I left public accounting and struggled to determine what I wanted to do next. I read about a new concept called Rent-a-Wreck.
It sounded like a groundbreaking idea, so I started my own used car rental agency. Looking back, my only real objective was to make lots of money.
I had no knowledge or passion for renting cars and no legitimate reason to answer the question, “Why should this business exist?”
Proverbs 20:5 teaches, “The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.”
If you’re considering launching a business, ponder deeply the question, “Why should this business exist?” If your answer is to make money, dig deeper to find a better purpose for your career.
