God wants His church united, but there's a big difference between unity and uniformity. As Paul wrote, "There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit" (1 Corinthians 12:4). Every follower of Jesus is given one or more spiritual gifts "for the profit of all" (v. 7). Although your gift looks and functions differently than others' gifts, no gift is more or less important in the body of Christ. God designed us to be different in order to be more effective. We are better together.
